Fire chief asks people to be wary of grass fires

After a string of grass fires over the past week in Prince George, the city’s fire chief is asking residents to be wary. John Iverson says this time of year sees a spike in brush fires after the snow melts.

Iverson says the lack of rain over the last while has also lead to the risk of fires. He says to be careful when using flammable materials and to not burn your grass. He recommends removing any dried debris away from buildings to prevent a fire starting.
