WHL names PG Cougars Tyler Brennan goaltender of the week

Recognition for Tyler Brennan after he posted back-to-back victories over the Vancouver Giants.

The top ranked North American goalie in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Season Rankings has been named the goaltender of the week by the WHL.

Brennan posted a 1.97 goals-against average and .941 save percentage for the Prince George Cougars in the road wins over the Giants.

He blocked 37 of 39 shots in Friday’s 3-2 overtime victory and stopped 27 of 29 in Saturday’s 4-2 triumph.

In 19 games this season, the 18-year-old Brennan has posted a 7-11-0-1 record, 3.36 goals-against-average and .901 save percentage.

He also has two shutouts.

Brennan and the Cougars host the Victoria Royals tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday.
