PG author featured in ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ book

A local author has been featured in the popular book series, “Chicken Soup for the Soul” for the second time.

Marty Anderson, an Integrated Marketing Executive at Vista Radio just had a story called “The Towel Protocol” published in the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul book, “Too Funny“.

“This particular story came about when we were getting the house ready for some guests that were coming over for a summer visit, and I put the wrong towels in the wrong bedroom, and it started an entire discussion about which towels were for which room, were guest towels, were kids towels, were my towels, and that is the story,” said Anderson.

Anderson said it’s his 2nd submission that’s been in the Chicken Soup series.

“The first one came out April of 2020, which was right into the start of all the COVID-19 lockdowns,” he said.

“It was their first chicken soup that was humour based, and it came out right with the warehouse lockdowns, and shipping problems, and it was a bit of a disaster.”

Anderson said he enjoys writing stories, and making people laugh.

“Most of them end up on my private blog, The Involved Husband.

The submission process is something I started doing different places, and Chicken Soup seems to be a good fit,” he said.

“The first part is to entertain people, most of what I write is humor based, and if I can brighten somebody’s day, that’s fantastic. The other side of it, is a little bit of a legacy, once it’s out there in print, it’s there forever.”

Anderson added that he’s been writing as for as he can remember, starting on an old manual typewriter in his parent’s basement.

“One of my first stories was a vampire story about my brother’s roommate,  and he ate everybody, and I think I probably was in grade 7 when I wrote that.”

The book was published on April 19th.
