If you’ve ever been worried trekking up the stairs to Connaught Hill, city council might give it some work.
During last night’s meeting, council asked staff at what it would cost to install new stairs, though Mayor Shari Green says it won’t be a funded project.
Green says staff has been asked to include the item into the 2015 capital budget as an “unfunded item”, meaning it’s on the list and staff can crunch the numbers and find a way to reduce the cost, as $615,000 for a set of stairs is “challenging to support”.
