On June 24th, the United States Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade precedent that gave American women the blanket right to an abortion in any state. Tomorrow (Saturday), protestors in Prince George will let the world know exactly how they feel.
A pro-choice rally is scheduled outside of the hospital from 10-4 during the day tomorrow in response to the abortion ruling in America last month.
“We realized there hasn’t been any kind of response to Roe v. Wade being overturned in the states, we were a little bit shocked nothing had been planned,” says one organizer Saige Liimatainen regarding Prince George.
Kellie Quick and Liimatainen are the two that stepped up to organize the rally after seeing a lack of response from the Prince George community.
Liimatainen added “Abortion is legal and safe here, we just have to keep fighting to make sure it stays that way and not go the way of the States.”
The expected rally turnout is anywhere between 40-80 people.
