Theatre Northwest gearing up for more Stage Readings

Theatre Northwest is gearing up for another stage reading this month.

On August 20th, the theatre will be putting on a production of Five Alarm, written by Canadian playwright Kristen Da Silva.

“It’s a really great funny comedy, it’s a great summer show,” Theatre Northwest Artistic Associate Anna Russell.

“It touches on summer themes where we’re at a chili cook-off.”

The production will be a ‘stage reading’.

“A stage reading is kind of a simplified version of a regular production of a play,” Russell said.

“You’ll see that the actors do have the scripts in their hands. Less costuming, less set, but still full story, so everyone’s getting the full story experience.”

Russell add the theatre has a series of stage readings coming up.

“We try to slot them in in between main stage main stage shows and rehearsals, so there will be two in September.
