PG RCMP make quick work to curtail bike thief

It didn’t take long for police to wrangle up a well-known suspect riding a stolen bicycle.

Just after 4 pm yesterday (Wednesday), the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at Koops Bike Shop on Nicholson Street.

Witnesses reported that a man began to leave the store with a bicycle and, when approached by employees, threatened them with a weapon.

“Police officers immediately flooded the area and began to look for the suspect. With assistance from several witnesses who provided police with accurate descriptions of the suspect’s clothing and last direction of travel, investigators located the man within 30 minutes of the theft occurring. The suspect was arrested without incident, and the bicycle was returned to the store,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
