PG under threat from invasive plants

The Prince George area has money to help fight invasive plants.

The provincial government has given the Northwest Invasive Plant Council 295 thousand dollars to help control the spread of invasive plants.

Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris says invasive plants can be a major problem that are a threat to farmers and ranchers.

Morris says the funding that Northwest Invasive Plant Council has received will go into activities like raising public awareness of invasive plants, and actively treating high-priority sites.

You can find more information on the provincial government website.
