Chase Wheatcroft scored a pair and Ty Young made 40 saves in the win.

The Cougars have won three in a row on their five-game road trip, which will conclude in Kelowna on Wednesday.

BCHL:

Aidan Feddema stopped 35 shots in the loss, and Charlie Banquier was the lone goal scorer for the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings will finish the second half of their four-game road trip with a double-header in Merritt on Thursday and Friday.

Canada West Mens Basketball:

UNBC Timberwolves  85  Trinity West Spartans  69

The trio of Spencer Ledoux, Fareed Shittu and Darren Hunter combined for 56 points as the T-Wolves finished the opening weekend at 1-1.

Trinity West Spartans  64  UNBC Timberwolves  54/

UNBC found a way to shut down Trinity Western big Nicole Fransson, but they had no answer for guard Jayden Gill who was the top scorer each game for the Spartans posting a combined 38 points over the weekend.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are the only Canadian team in action today, as they visit the Carolina Hurricanes.

MLB World Series:

The Houston Astros are the 2022 World Series Champions, defeating Philadelphia in six games.
