FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE TO HELP FIGHT NORTHERN GATEWAY PIPELINE BEGINS TOMORROW

Tomorrow marks the start of the Week to End Endbridge events to raise money for First Nation legal challenges along the Northern Gateway Pipeline.

Sierra B.C. Campaigns Director Caitlyn Vernon says they are approaching their fundraising goal of 600-thousand dollars.

“we’ve already raised 400 thousand dollars, with the goal raising 600 thousand dollars to support the first nations in court.

Vernon adds the events are a good way for people to come together and the support the province’s way of life.

“it’s a chance for people to come together and reinforce what they are saying no to the Endbridge pipeline and really celebrate the community that we have and celebrate what we are saying yes to which is wild salmon, ecosystems, good jobs, strong communities and all of that”

Almost 50 events are taking place across BC including the Smithers Pure Water and Wild Salmon BBQ taking place tomorrow at noon at Bovill Square.

Prince George will be holding a dance at Moose Park on June 26th.

Week to Endbridge goes from June 13th to the 21st.
