The Westwood Pub Devils officially clinched top spot in Prince George Senior Lacrosse following a 12-5 victory over the second place BX Pub Bandits. A total of 173 penalty minutes were handed out. The Devils scored four goals in each period to improve their record to 11-0 and extend their overall winning streak to 35 games dating back to last year. The Bandits are 8-3.

There’s just one week left in the PG Senior Lacrosse regular season. Action resumes Monday at 8pm at Kin 1 as the Devils take on 3-8 Northland/Nissan Assault. Playoffs start Monday, June 29th.

–Fullback Brandon Deschamps of Prince George will find out Saturday if he makes the BC Lions roster. The 6-foot-200 pound Deschamps, a Kelly Road and UBC grad, played on special teams in the Lions pre-season opener against Calgary. BC will host Edmonton Friday in its final exhibition game. The Lions open their regular season July 4th in Ottawa.

The 22-year-old Deschamps was signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent just prior to training camp.

–Former Prince George Cougars and Cariboo Cougars forward Brett Roulston has committed to play for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns in the 2015-16 season.

Roulston, a Whitehorse native, played last season with the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers after two years with the PG Cougars. He notched 37 points, including 17 goals in 58 games with the Clippers. Roulston tallied nine goals and 10 assists in 105 games with the Cougars.

-–Hit to Pass racing will be featured Saturday night at PGARA. The Hit to Pass Main Event Day includes the Hornet main, Chieftain Auto Parts Mini Stocks, Canadian Tire Street Stocks and Hit to Pass 150 lap main.

-–Motocross races run this weekend. Racing goes both Saturday and Sunday at the Blackwater Track–23 KM’s down the Blackwater road heading towards Baldy Hughes (past the West Lake turn off).
