A local athlete is doing his part to crack the BC Lions lineup.
As 22 year old Brandon Deschamps, a former Kelly Road and UBC grad is currently gunning for a Lions roster spot.
He says the whole experience so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and is thrilled to be a part of the hometown team:
“Being a guy from Prince George, being a football player who grew up watching the BC Lions, I think the most exciting part is definitely just getting to wear that jersey at practice and the uniform everyday; It’s something that I take as a blessing every day”
Deschamps says he will find out Saturday if he makes the squad, has been playing in many special teams situations, and may see field time Friday against Edmonton.
