Kodiaks player added to CFL roster for first time in franchise history

Will St. Hubert is trading yellow for orange.

The BC Lions added the Kodiaks’ All-Star Offensive Lineman to their roster this morning.

“Will worked hard to get where he is,” Ryan Bellamy, the General Manager of the Kodiaks told My PG Now.

“Will is a big, aggressive Offensive Lineman. Very technically sound, a hard worker and he brings a good team-first attitude.”

St. Hubert was one of two Kodiaks named to the BC Football Conference (BCFC) All-Star team last season, alongside Keon Raymond Jr.

In a release, the Lions say St. Hubert  was “instrumental in helping lead the Kodiaks in their expansion season while helping the offence record over 2,000 net yards.”

Last season was the Kodiaks first season in the BCFC.

They finished with a 1-9-0 record and they received massive support from the community – playing in front of near sold out crowds every night.

Bellamy said having a player out of year one picked up by the big leagues “is very exciting and rewarding for the effort that everyone put in. On our end it is a testament to the hard work that everybody put in, to put a team here and give more players a chance to participate and play in Canadian junior football.”

St. Hubert will attend the Lions’ training camp this fall where he will compete for a roster spot or a spot on the team’s practice roster.
