WHL:

The Prince George Cougars are 1-0 on a 7-game road trip that continues tonight (Friday) in Lethbridge and Saturday in Swift Current.

19-year-old sniper Zac Funk will make his P.G. debut this weekend.

He was acquired on Tuesday from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for Carter MacAdams, a pair of second-round draft picks, and a fourth-round pick.

Funk has 32 points (13 goals) and 45 penalty minutes in 33 games this season with the Hitmen.

The (17-17-3) Cougars are tied for 6th in the Western Conference standings with Tri-City, just a point back of Vancouver and two behind Everett.

The (17-12-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings visit the (18-10-4) West Kelowna Warriors tonight and the (16-16-1-2) Wenatchee Wild on Saturday.

In the 9-team Interior Division, West Kelowna is 3rd, Prince George 4th and Wenatchee 6th.

BC Elite Hockey League: (BCEHL)

(U18 male)

The (7-12-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars host the (15-7-2) Vancouver North West Hawks Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 11:00 at Kin 1.

The U-18 Cougars are 7th and the Hawks 3rd in the 9-team division.

(U18 female)

The (8-13-2) Under-18 female Northern Capitals have three home games this weekend against the (21-0) Fraser Valley Rush.

They meet today at 3:45 PM at Kin 2, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at CN Centre, and Sunday afternoon at 2:30 also at CN Centre.

The Capitals are 4th in the 5-team division.

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Victoria Vikes tonight and Saturday in Canada West men’s and women’s basketball.

UNBC is 5-5 (men) and 3-7 (women) while Victoria is 10-2 (men) and 4-8 (women).
