MEMORIAL WALK TO SUPPORT MURDERED TEEN CONTINUES

A 23 kilometre walk in memory of a murdered aboriginal teenager continues up the highway of tears.

Aieleah Augar’s body was found nine years ago just east of Tabor Mountain.

Organizer, Angeline Chalifoux says the location of the walk has some additional significance.

“Her mother passed away two years ago on the same highway Audrey Auger, there’s been no voice for her for two years and decided to start talking and start bringing her out again”

Chalifoux adds there’s a break down in the justice system whenever an aboriginal teen goes missing.

“and there’s no answers, we don’t get help, like when Aieleah went missing on February 2nd 2006, her mother and I walked down there and for a whole week we looked for her just the two of us and that just shouldn’t happened”

Auger was a grade 8 student at DP Todd Secondary School.

The walk will end at the Prince George Courthouse at 7pm.
