Two days left for Harley raffle benefitting cardiac care in Northern BC

The Prince George Firefighters and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation have sold 4,000 tickets for this year’s Harley Davidson raffle, and there are still two days to go.

That number is according to Aimee Cassie, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation CEO, who said ticket sales have picked up speed in the last week.

“I think everyone that is buying tickets can see themselves riding that bike in the springtime,” she said.

The bike is a 2022 Harley-Davidson STREET BOB 114 H-D Large Cruiser, valued at over $23,000.

All proceeds will stay local, they are going to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation for new cardiac care equipment for the hospital.

“Right now cardiac care is the biggest gap we see with healthcare in northern BC,” Cassie explained.

“This will have a significant impact on our loved ones and I think it is something we would all like to see in the north.”

This equipment includes “ECG Machines, Defibrillators, Vascular Dopplers, and Cardiac Ultrasound Units,” according to the Spirit of the North website.

At $20 a ticket – without any special discounted rates for buying tickets in bulk – the 4,000 sold should equate to $80,000 raised.

“We are really pleased with the results we have seen so far,” Cassie said. “It is a Prince George favourite, and the firefighters do such an incredible job with it. We are so thankful for their support.”

In total, 6,000 tickets are up for sale.

Sales will cut off at midnight on Thursday, the winners will be drawn and contacted at 2:00 Friday afternoon.
