Over $67,000 raised during McHappy Day in PG

McHappy Day in Prince George was a huge success.

Over $67,000 was raised in support of the Ronald McDonald House of BC as well as the Prince George Child Development Centre.

Head Manager, Eric Simmons told MyPGNow.com the final tally exceeded expectations.

“We have been focused on this for over a month engaging with our teams, current customers, and suppliers and just really focused on building awareness with both charities.”

Simmons added they have a strong partnership with the child development centre.

“We always want to give back to another local charity. We don’t want to spread ourselves too thin. Our owner Brian has always worked directly with the child development centre in his markets of Dawson Creek and Fort St. John as well as Vanderhoof and Prince George.”

“Last year we raised $38,000 – it’s a huge increase, which is part of the reason we had set our goal around 40 (thousand). We weren’t sure what was going to happen but like I said, we rallied together.”

He added they have set a fundraising goal of $70,000 for 2024.
