High school trades program gets recognized

A new program that sees grade seven students learning trades got a pat on the back today.

The Canfor Elementary Trades Program was praised by the provincial government, CNC, School District 57 and Canfor.

32 students from five Prince George schools learning trades skills at the College of New Caledonia.

Harwin Elementary Principal Nevio Rossi, one of the programs creators, says students were keen on being apart of the new course.

Rossi says they are currently partnering with Canfor, but may branch out to other trades companies to deliver the program.
