Three charity walks taking place in Prince George Sunday

If you have been craving the sun, a walk, and a good cause, tomorrow is your big day.

Three charity walks will be taking place in Prince George (Sunday), aiming to raise a combined $110,000.

An athletic humanitarian could even make it to all three events, as they are staggered throughout the day.

Hospice Colour Walk

Supporters who pledged to walk 100k in the month of May will be wrapping up their journey at the CN Centre parking lot with the Colour Walk.

People will show up dressed in white and will leave doused in colours, all with the goal of raising $50,000 for a new outdoor space for residents at the Hospice House.

The walk will start at 10:00 and go until noon.

MS Canada Walk

Prince George’s 25th annual MS Canada Walk will be held at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park.

The walk will begin at 11:00 with speeches and music, following the walk there will be a barbecue, live entertainment, an A&W Root Beer float stand, and other activities set up for the afternoon.

The walk is 2.5km long, their goal is to raise $40,000 for MS research and treatment.

IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s

Across Canada, this walk has raised over $41-million since 2015.

All the money goes towards research into the disease and ways to treat it, as well as programs, services, and support for people with Alzheimer’s and their families.

They hope to raise $20,000 in Prince George this year.

Registration for the walk begins at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon (May 28) at the YMCA, the walk itself will start at 3:00.

The Spruce City Wildlife Association is also inviting the public to its annual Salmon Fry release. That will take place at the hatchery on River Road from noon until 2:00.
