TEEGEE TO LEAD CARRIER SEKANI TRIBAL COUNCIL FOR SECOND TIME

Terry Teegee is set to begin term two as Chief of the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council.

Teegee says the issue of missing and murdered aboriginal women will be brought to the forefront.

“What we’re looking forward to is to addressing the issue of a national inquiry for the many missing and murdered women across this country.”

Teegee adds land use issues and the development of two controversial pipelines will also be mentioned.

Despite being re-elected only twelve percent of the C-S-T-C voted leading Teegee to believe an overhaul in voting is badly needed.

“We should be updating our election codes to include mail-in ballots and on-line options to increase the level of participation in elections.”

Teegee defeated John Erickson this past weekend by a 371 to 128 margin.
