Community Forest being pondered by Vanderhoof Council

Vanderhoof Mayor Gerry Thiessen says a community forest would be a vital part of the town.

A community forest meeting was held last night.

In March of 2013, the district received a letter encouraging forest development.

The application should be submitted by council on August 14th.

Jim Snetsinger with IFS says they have five applications with one pending and community forests range from 25 thousand cubic meters to 50 thousand.
