Another consultation on the horizon for BC

A public consultation has now begun on the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

It will be the first time since 2010 the act has been reviewed.

Committee Chair, Don McRae says they will be making several stops in the fall including Prince George.

“Part of the process is going around British Columbia both in terms of having face to face in person consultation and video conferencing, we are in Prince George on November 18th via video conference so that people can participate not face to face with committee members but live on-line.”

McRae also explains what the act entails.

“Basically people have private information protected in an adequate manner so that they can have that level of security but at the same time when government has information the information is shared with the general public as well.”

The consultation ends on January 29th, 2016.
