PG Symphony Orchestra gets 58 thousand in gaming grants

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra Society is one of 15 local organizations to receive money from the BC Gaming Grant program.

They were awarded the largest sum of $58,000 and General Manager Jeremy Stewart says it will go toward a number of things.

“The funds are used to pay for musicians salaries including some of our amazing guest soloists like Nikolai Choubine.”

Over 282 thousand dollars was handed out in total

Community Arts Council of PG and District – $11,000
Bel Canto Choirs Association – $10,000
Prince George Cantala Singers – $6,500
Prince George Community Band – $2,000
Prince George Youth Baseball Association – $18,480
Northern BC Centre for Skating Association – $51,000
Prince George Minor Football – $31,190
Prince George Pisces Summer Swim Club – $20,000
Prince George Minor Lacrosse – $17,920
Prince George Ski Club – $15,750
Boxing BC Association – $11,500
Prince George Track and Field Club – $9,000
Spruce City Minor Softball Association – $5,340
