Cascades sweep T-Wolves in Soccer

It was a fruitful weekend up north for the Fraser Valley Cascades as they beat the UNBC Timberwolves in both men’s and women’s soccer today (Sun).

In women’s action, the Cascades scored early and often defeating the Lady Timberwolves 6-1.

Fraser Valley got a pair from Monica Levarsky along with singles from Jade Palm, Gurneet Dahliwal, Amanda Carrtuehrs and Brittany Zacharuk.

Sydney Hall scored the lone marker from the Timberwolves while sister Jordan was solid in net despite giving up six goals.

Next action for the Lady Timberwolves is next weekend at home against the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday and the Calgary Dinos on Sunday.

On the men’s side, Fraser Valley took both ends of a double header against UNBC winning 3-0 in a heated battle which saw plenty of cards handed out.

Daniel Molendijk scored the lone goal in the first half.

UFV pulled away in the second half after a pair goals from Colton O’Neill and Brady Weir.

Timberwolves defender Daniel Goode received a red card late in the game after a tackle in the second half.

UNBC will play next weekend at home against the UBC Thunderbirds on Saturday and Sunday.

Kick-off is slated for 2:15 both days.
