Spruce Kings lose in OT to Grizzlies

The Prince George Spruce Kings picked up 3 out of a possible 4 points at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack after a 2-1 overtime defeat to the Victoria Grizzlies today (Sun).

Victoria got on the board first in the opening frame courtesy of a power play goal by Brayden Gelsinger.

Corey Hoffman would tie it up late in the third for the Spruce Kings to even the score at 1 after regulation.

Kevin Massey would end the game in the extra frame for Victoria with under a minute left putting the winner past Liam McCloskey who made 34 saves in defeat.

Prince George will have back to back home games this weekend playing the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Friday and will play host to Tyson Jost, Dante Fabbro and the Penticton Vees on Saturday.

Both players are projected 1st round picks for the upcoming NHL Draft.

Start time for each game is 7pm at the Coliseum.
