The Northern BC Tourism Plaza was a big hit at the Canada Winter Games in Prince George.
Northern BC Tourism won the Innovation Award at the 2015 BC Tourism Industry Gala in Vancouver this week.
CEO, Clint Fraser says it was a very positive addition to the games.
“Ir provided an opportunity for our visitors to learn more about their region’s tourism experience and the culture, it sure was a collaborative effort from Northern BC and the Cariboo to the coast regions of the province.”
Fraser adds one thing about the plaza stood out.
“All of the materials used to build the plaza were locally sourced so I really think that added to the experience to showcasing local talent and culture.
The plaza saw over 20 thousand visitors from across Canada during the two week event.
The Innovation Award recognizes an individual or consortium that implemented an innovative initiative marketing campaign to increase the number of visitors to BC.
