Wenatchee blanks Spruce Kings

The Wenatchee Wild continued its mastery of the Prince George Spruce Kings tonight (Thu) winning 3-0 at the Coliseum.

Both teams came out of the gate fast and traded chances for the vast majority of the period until the Wild took advantage of an Adam Burnett turnover, courtesy of Bryon Yoon to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

In the second, the score would remain the same with the Spruce Kings getting out shot 8-4 in the middle frame.

After a series of penalties, Wenatchee would double its lead in the third courtesy of Kyle Stephen with a 4 on 4 goal.

The Wild would then pot an empty netter from Troy Conzo to ice the victory.

Prince George was out shot 25-17 overall and was held to just 6 shots in the final 40 minutes.

Wild goalie Chase Perry has allowed 1 goal on 58 shots over three games at the Coliseum this season.

Wenatchee continues to lead the Mainland Division with a 11-4-2-1 mark while the Spruce Kings fall to 4-12-0-1.

Both clubs play game two of their doubleheader tomorrow (Fri) from the Coliseum at 7pm.
