The Thompson Rivers Wolfpack took both game ones of their basketball double header against the UNBC Timberwolves tonight (Fri) at the Northern Sports Centre.
In the women’s game, the Lady T-Wolves jumped out to an early 5-0 lead before giving up 11 straight points and would trail 15-13 after the first quarter.
TRU would extend its lead to ten taking a 33-23 advantage at half-time.
The Wolfpack would outscore the lady T-Wolves 36-21 in the second half winning the game 69-54.
Michelle Bos lead the Wolfpack with 15 points while Maria Mongomo was the top scorer for the Lady T-Wolves with 19 points.

On the men’s side, there was no shortage of three pointers made from both clubs which saw the Wolfpack edge the T-Wolves 94-89.
Guards Billy Cheng and Rhys Elliott led the way offensively with 32 and 29 points each but were unable to find an answer on defence against the likes of Reese Pribilsky and Volodymyr Iegorov who both scored 29 and 21 points apiece.
Both schools will play the second half of the double header tomorrow at 5 and 7pm from the Northern Sports Centre.
