The holiday season in Prince George is right around the corner and Operation Red Nose is getting set for it’s 18th year.
Spokesperson, Andrea Johnson says those who want to volunteer must go through a couple of steps.
“They can fill out an application form on-line at www.ornpg.ca. and that also includes a criminal record check. Volunteers must be 19 years of age along with a valid drivers license.”
Johnson adds volunteers can fill a variety of roles.
“You can be the designated driver taking the client home or the escort driver that follows behind”
Operation Red Nose will be in service every Friday and Saturday from November 27th to December 18th and New Year’s Eve.
Over 100 volunteers have signed up for this year’s nine day run.
At least 15 road teams will be on call for each night of service.
Last year, 1,123 safe rides home were provided which ranked 2nd out of 13 BC communities.
