Council will get some help before deciding whether to remove parking from city bike lanes.
Council decided last night (Mon) it will hire a consultant to figure out where to make effective traffic improvements.
Councillor Jillian Merrick says bike lane laws have to be an all-or-nothing approach.
“Once you get to the point where you realize a lane of traffic has to be free-flowing and unobstructed to function then it just starts to make sense, but if you try to compromise and say well we can put some vehicles here and there I think that is what’s slowing us down.”
The city plans to include 36 km of roads in the project.
