Local man turns 100

A Prince George man is cracking the century mark today (Wed).

Jim Nue is celebrating his 100th birthday and says he didn’t think getting the milestone was very likely.

“If somebody would have told me that I’d make 100 I would have told them to get their head examined but I made it.”

He adds life has been very enjoyable.

“I had a lot of fun in my life plus the best wife anyone could have. We had a big time but things are catching up, my eyes are watering, voice is getting dimmer all the time, I don’t see good any more but I get by.”

A ceremony to honour him was held at the Gateway Assisted Living Centre by Northern Health.

Nue has 4 kids, 11 grand kids, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
