CNC and School District 57 to offer dual credit program next fall

A news dual credit program designed to bridge the gap between secondary and post-secondary education will be offered through CNC and School District 57 next year.

Vice-President of Academics, Jay Notay says the initiative will give high school students more options.

“It’s all about pathways, it’s all about transitioning and not identifying that one route is better than the other, it just gives students the choice to take advantage of the opportunities available to them while enrolled in high school.”

Notay adds SD 57 will help foot the bill.

“So the school district in Prince George will be paying for all associated tuition and course costs at the same rate a CNC domestic student would pay.”

The agreement will remain in effect until 2020.

UNBC introduced a similar program back in September which was geared towards their degree level programs.

Over 40 100 level courses will be offered to high school students.
