PG Relay for Life going for three in a row

The Canadian Cancer Society in Prince George is hoping for a three-peat at this year’s Relay For Life.

Coordinator, Aimee Cassie explains why the community rallies behind the event.

“I think so many people are affected by cancer and what relay does is give them the opportunity to get out there and support one another through this journey and so supportive of Relay For Life.”

The city has taken top spot in all of Canada the last two years and the Cancer Society will also be celebrating a milestone.

“The other really cool thing to share is we are celebrating our 24th year and we are the only 24 hour event in Canada which is a huge feather in our cap.”

This year’s event also features a new partnership with Northland Auto Group where one ticket gets you into a draw to win one of three vehicles for every 500 dollars raised.

The draw will be held during the relay at Masich Place Stadium which takes places over a 24 hour period on May 7th and 8th.
