The most recent job numbers survey from Stats Canada was not kind to Prince George.
Since January 2015, the number of people working shrunk from 50,200 to 46,500.
Labour Division Analyst, Vince Ferrao says the unemployment rate wasn’t much better.
“The jobless rate over the same period increased from 4.2% to 6.4%.”

Things are looking way better provincially however with over 48,600 people finding work in BC over the past year.
The unemployment rate did jump from 5.6 to 6.6% but that was mainly due to more people entering the workforce.
