Rockets rally late to nip the Cats in OT

Rourke Chartier led the Kelowna Rockets to a come from behind 4-3 overtime victory over the Prince George Cougars.

The 19-year-old Chartier scored his second goal of the game with 1:10 left in the third and then completed the hat trick by scoring at 2:47 of O.T.

Jesse Gabrielle with his 35th, Chase Witala with his 34th and Colby McAuley midway through the third period tallied for the Cougars, who outshot the Rockets 46-34 before 2,755 fans.

Michael Herringer made 43 saves for the (38-15-3) Rockets who are first in the WHL, a point ahead of Lethbridge and two in front of Victoria.

The same teams meet again tonight (Saturday) at CN Centre as the (31-21-3-1) Cougars look to end a four game losing streak.
