The Kelowna Rockets scored on four on their first 10 shots and then went on to knock off the Prince George Cougars 6-4 Saturday before 3,794 fans at CN Centre.
Nick McBride was pulled in favor of Ty Edmonds with his team trailing 4-1 early in the 2nd.
The Cougars, down 5-2, rallied for a pair of goals 13 seconds apart midway thru the 3rd before the Rockets shut the door.
Tyson Baillie scored the 6th Kelowna goal and added two assists while line-mate Justin Kirkland tallied twice. Baillie has 39 points in 34 career games against the Cougars.
Sam Ruopp led the Cats with a goal and two assists. He was also plus 2.
Prince George outshot the guests 34-28.
The league-leading (39-15-3) Rockets swept the doubleheader. Kelowna took Friday’s game 4-3 in overtime.
The (31-22-3-1) Cougars will try to end a five game losing streak when they host Red Deer Friday in the first of a doubleheader.
