Cariboo earns split with Giants

The Cariboo Cougars continued their six game road trip over the weekend earning a split against the Vancouver Northwest Giants.

On Saturday, the Giants prevailed with an 8-4 victory.

Riley Coish, Ty Maser, Josh Maser and Jeremy Gervais all scored in a losing cause for the Cougars.

Cariboo trailed 3-1 at the conclusion of the first period and 5-1 after 40 minutes.

On Sunday, Cariboo bounced back with a 4-3 win thanks to a two goal effort from Mason Richey.

Jeremy Gervais and Riley Coish also potted goals in consecutive games.

Cariboo improves 27-8-3 on the season and are seven points up on VNW for second place while they also remain neck and neck with the Valley West Hawks for first overall in the BCMML.

The Cougars have a week off before travelling to Kelowna on February 27th and 28th when they face-off against the Okanagan Rockets.
