Last day of school for Prince George students?

The news that BC teachers will have a full-scale strike on Tuesday means today is potentially the last day of school for students in Prince George.

Because of rotating strikes hitting Prince George tomorrow, and a “study session” closing all schools on Monday, this could be the last day of classes for this school year.

However, School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper says final exams will still go ahead.

“Teachers will be required to invigilate grade 10, 11, and 12 provincial exams. In addition to that, the compilation and submission of final grades for grade 12s will come to schools no later than June 20th.”

Pepper says as for today, students should take all of their belongings home, and those involved in provincial exams should have all the necessary material to study for them.

All updates will be posted to the school district’s website.
