With today being the first day of summer, Environment Canada is predicting above average temperatures in the area.

Meteorologist Doug Lundquist says from their record keeping, the first day of summer is June 1st, with today being the longest day of the year.

Lundquist says temperature wise, the summer is looking warm.

Lundquist says temperatures are predicted to be above normal for the summer.

He says precipitation is tougher to track from year to year because it is so volatile.
