Police investigating shooting on Gould Crescent

The Prince George RCMP is investigating an overnight shooting on Gould Crescent, which took place just a block away from where a man was gunned down in his driveway last week. (previous story)

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says the shooting occurred at 12:20 AM. Police have now secured the scene at 3621 Gould Crescent.

Officers detained five people at the scene as a part of the response. A 26-year-old was taken to hospital with a non-gunshot injury. Some of the people detained were released, but others remain in custody.

Police believe this was a home invasion, and multiple people involved fled the area before RCMP showed up.

Investigators believe this incident is linked to the drug trade. It’s the third shooting in two weeks in Prince George, going back to a gunfight on Freeman Street (previous story)

The RCMP say it’s “concerned about the recent incidents that have taken place within a relatively small area of our community”

“Prince George remains a safe community for those that do not involve themselves in illegal activities. The small percentage of persons that operate or live within the drug trade put themselves at a higher risk every day.” Corporal Craig Douglass continued in a media release

Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword “pgtips”. You could earn a cash reward if your information that leads to an arrest.
