Despite mother nature wreaking havoc on the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League Fields on Friday, the Saskatchewan Huskies rose to the occasion in the 2nd half netting three goals in a 3-0 victory over the UNBC Timberwolves in Canada West men’s soccer.
After a scoreless first half, Jacob Powell put the Huskies on the board in the 65th minute off of a corner kick.
Saskatchewan extended its lead with two more markers in the 81st and 90th minute courtesy of Sam Whiting and Mohamed Omar.
Huskies improve to 1-3-1 while UNBC drops to 1-6.
Francesco Bartolilo and Emmanuel Dramme picked up yellow cards for the T-Wolves.
UNBC plays host to the Winnipeg Wesmen on Sunday at 11AM.
The Timberwolves women’s soccer team is on the road against UBCO Saturday at 1PM followed by a Sunday matinee in Kamloops against TRU.
