No weather records broken…yet

It’s been hot in Prince George, but nothing we haven’t seen before.

Environment Canada’s Allan Coldwells says although temperatures have been in the mid-30s, no records have been broken yet.

“The record from Saturday was 33.4 from 2007, we got to 32.4. Then on Sunday, which was the warmest of the last couple days, 33.2, but the record’s actually 35.6 from 2007.”

However, Coldwells says today’s temperature will likely break the record set in 2007; as the forecasted high is 34 degrees, and the record is 30.5 degrees.

He says tomorrow’s record is likely to fall as well, with a forecasted high of 34 degrees again, and the record only being 29.4 from 1958.

The heat is expected to recede by Thursday, with more seasonal temperatures in the mid-20s.
