All schools in Fort St James are currently under “Shelter in Place” mode, after a threatening post surfaced on social media.

The threat mirrors a similar threat posted towards Prince George schools on Wednesday which led to heightened security at PG schools for all of Thursday and Friday morning.

“Shelter in Place” means that children will be kept behind locked external doors for the day. A police presence has been deployed to conduct mobile and static mobile patrols of the schools throughout the day.

SD91 says children who have walked or biked to school will need to be picked up by parents. Bus students must be met by parents at bus drop off locations. If parents are not at these locations, children will be returned to the school. If parents are unable to meet a bus or attend the school to pick up their child, please contact your child’s school. Schools will be contacting parents this afternoon to confirm the above. RCMP will be present during dismissal.

David Hoy Parents of Primary Students (K – 3), please use the primary boot room entrance and intermediate parents please use the front door.
