North District RCMP , ICBC and YRB held a “shift into winter” roadside check this morning at the brake-check in Beaverly.
ICBC’s Doug McDonald says last last week’s blast of winter appear to of gotten the message across for many in Prince George.
“We are pulling them over in a positive sort of way, to talk about the importance of winter driving. So far, surprisingly we’ve seen some really good set-ups with people using their winter tires so it’s been great.”
Monty Shipmaker with Yellowhead Road and Bridge says many people who do not already have their winter tires on, say they already have appointments to do so.
“As you see with the snow out there right now, we’ve had a little bit of it in the last week.”
McDonald says they were also reminding people to keep their windshield wiper fluid topped up.
Tire shops across the city have been dealing with large crowds with tire changeover season in full swing.
