Both civil and Motor Vehicle Act litigation is underway in connection to January’s bus roll-over.
A local man has filed a civil claim against Greyhound and one of its drivers for its role in the crash north of Hixon.
Jesse Campbell-Smith was one of nine people hurt in the crash, which saw the coach leave Highway 97 and rollover into the ditch.
The lawsuit alleges negligence from both company and driver for injuries that continue to cause pain and require medical treatment. Campbell-Smith is a journeyman scaffolder and is also claiming lost past and future wages.
Injuries include soft tissue damage, lacerations and scarring to the back, shoulder injury and more.
None of the allegations have been proven in court. Greyhound has not filed a response yet.
Separately, the driver of the bus Craig Conroy has been charged under the Motor Vehicle act with one count of Excessive speeding relative to conditions. A hearing on that ticket was initially scheduled for September, but has been postponed to a later date.
