New addition to downtown Prince George nightlife opens it doors tomorrow

The newest place to wet your whistle in downtown Prince George opens tomorrow night.

Kask features a globally-inspired test kitchen menu and 26 rotating draft taps from around North America. It’s the newest addition to the burgeoning downtown core.

“The inspiration behind it is having another place to go downtown that’s just a little different and being a part of the activation of the downtown core,” says owner Ross Birchell.

Birchell is the president of the Rotary Club and Chair of the business development task force. He’s excited by what he’s seeing in the downtown area.

“It’s really great to see 4th Avenue come to life again. It’s full now and it hasn’t been in a long time. It’s nice to see that that demand is starting to be met. Business owners and entrepreneurs are hearing that from people and acting accordingly. We have Crossroad opening up soon and Homework being rebuilt – it’s an exciting time, reintroducing Prince George to downtown. Being as spread out as we are in Prince George we need to not forget that we have a downtown and that it’s starting to thrive again.”

While the menu may be global, Kask also aims to support local businesses – Hope Farms and Rogers Meats are two of their food suppliers.

Kask opens its door to the public tomorrow night and will be open until 3 am on Friday and Saturday nights.
