City welcomes new Officer in Charge

There’s a new sheriff in town.

Inspector Warren Brown is taking over as Officer in Charge for the Prince George RCMP, replacing Superintendent Eric Stubbs who has left for Ottawa.

Corporal Craig Douglass says Brown has experience in the north, working with the New Hazelton and Williams Lake RCMP.

“He’s got a lot of Detachment Commander experience, which is something that I’m sure that the City and us here at the detachment are looking for. Somebody that’s done it before.”

Mayor Shari Green says the City expects that Brown will continue working with them on crime prevention.

“He definitely understands the importance with the Mayor’s Task Force on Crime. I know that you’ll see some strong support from him to continue that work, as well as a continued strategic relationship with the City.”

As for when Brown will arrive, Douglass says it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
