HIV on the decline in BC

Everyone in the province should get tested for HIV.
That from Regional Bloodborn Pathogens Coordinator Robert Milligan with the Northern Health Authority, who told city council Monday night that the end of HIV in the province is nearer than ever.
“We know that if you get tested and get people on treatment, it’s an end, we can get there, we just need people to test,” he says. “HIV can live silently in the body for years and years, if you’re not tested, you won’t know.”
Milligan says “treatment as prevention” for the disease can prevent its replication.
He says BC is the only province to see a decrease in HIV, though around 2500 people are infected and don’t know.
