PG to get painted pink for Run for the Cure

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is fund raising for this fall’s “CIBC Run for the Cure”.

Co-Run Director for Fund raising Melissa Veregin says they are “painting Prince George pink” this weekend.

‘We are doing a storefront challenge, we have five businesses involved and they are painting their storefronts pink with different decals,’ she says. “We will be at the farmer’s market [Saturday] morning, just having our pink there, giving out information, and pink swag.’

The businesses include Crystal Glass, PG Motors, Second Cup Parkwood, and both Chatters Hair Salon locations.

‘Also on Sunday, we have our Amazing Race,’ Veregin says.

Six teams are involved for that race around the city, on Sunday which starts at City Hall, raising awareness for breast cancer.
