Cougars have half of their home games in last three months

The Prince George Cougars will play 21 of their 36 home games on Friday or Saturday nights in the 2017-18 WHL regular season.

The team released its schedule Tuesday afternoon; the Cats have two home games, both against the Spokane Chiefs to begin their 24th season.

The season opener on September 22nd will be one of 12 feature home games at the CN Centre.

On opening night, the Cougars will raise their first ever BC Division banner.

The ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ will be held December 10th at 2PM, the only Sunday home game of the year.

On Family Day, February 12th, the Cougars entertain Red Deer, their only Monday home game, also at 2PM in the afternoon.

The Cougars longest home-stand will be six games in late February early March, seven straight games on the road from October 20th to November 3rd, and also will make their six-game Prairie swing in late January/early February.

The Cats conclude with a home-and-home against the Blazers; March 16th in Kamloops and March 17th in Prince George.

2017-18 WHL SCHEDULE:

  • Monday = 16 (2.0%)
  • Tuesday = 82 (10.4%)
  • Wednesday = 128 (16.2%)
  • Thursday = 11 (1.4%)
  • Friday = 228 (28.8%)
  • Saturday = 234 (29.5%)
  • Sunday = 93 (11.7%)
